URL Shortener

Fwd4.Me | The UK's Number One URL Shortener

URL Previews & Statistics

From time to time, you might wish to know just where one of our short URLs redirects to, before you actually click on the short URL itself.

This could be for various reasons, idle curiosity or maybe you suspect the short URL will forward you on to some undesirable content (please report a bad URL if you see one!).

Previewing a URL will not only show you the long URL which the short URL will forward you on to, but it will also provide you with the 'title' of the page you are about to be forwarded to, plus a screen shot of the destination web site so you can actually see what the web site looks like, before deciding whether to click on the short URL link or not.

When previewing a short URL, you will also see some other information about the short URL itself, such as when it was created, how much shorter it is than its original/long counterpart and the amount of clicks the short URL has received.

To preview any of our short URLs, simply place a question mark on the end of the short URL, eg:

http://fwd4.me/9HV?

Placing a ? on the end of any of our short URLs will present you with the following:

Preview of a short URL

You also have the option to switch permanent previews on and off so that each time you click any one of our short URLs from anywhere (eg. on a web page, or maybe a Twitter post, or in the body of an email, etc) you will always see a preview of the URL (if you so choose), before being redirected to the long URL.

(always preview URLs before being redirected: no)
